Dearest
How are you in this moment? Is the warmth of the suns rays penetrating your skin or are you rugged up inside escaping a winters blast?

If you take a deep breath in can you feel its freshness energise you or is it stale and feels like any goodness is should contain has long since left the space it occupies. I hope you are surround by a wonderful energising environment no matter the season. Opening windows to allow staleness to flow out and be replaced by refreshing and nourishing air.
One of my favourite magazines, The Simple Things, introduced me to the concept of Habernacle. It means an animals winter den where they retreat to. The magazine applied it to our human environment as how we set up our homes as the colder, darker months envelope our days. What a delightful word and what a delightful concept. Creating a space to retreat to. To feel safe, cosy and content, surrounded by things that trigger joy.
What are some of the things or activities that trigger joy for you? Do you actively seek them out on a daily basis? Can you name them or has life created so much noise around you the thought of trying to think create stress and pressure?
Well e hoa, just take a breath - right now. A beautiful deep inhale, hold, and a controlled exhale till nothing further can be expelled. Repeat until you are present in the moment. Till you have no expectations of what should be. You are just aware and accepting of what is.
My dearest, I hope you can connect to the truth that you are a wonderful, brilliant and unique human - right in this moment, exactly as you are.
As I create my habernacle, my knitting makes it’s home on the couch. Blankets also adorn the couch - more for the feeling of coziness than required warmth. The warmth is generated from a lovely fire whose flames I can become mesmerised by. Candles are used, as are the vintage tea cups and saucers. Comforting baking fills cupboards and bellies. Crockpots filled with slow cooked meats and stews welcome us home. Heavy blankets and duvets create a snuggly slumber.
Turning pages devouring knowledge or an adventure. Satisfyingly conquering puzzles and card games. Or just snuggling in to a love one - because you can.
I hope you can create your own habernacle to surround yourself with people, experiences and things that trigger joy.
Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions.
You are worthy - always
