Joy in the changing of seasons

Dearest,

How does your body feel? Can you wiggle and move each part freely and with ease or have some parts announced their existence through stiffness or pain? Take a moment, starting at your toes (or wherever your body begins) to appreciate all that each and every part plays in our daily lives.

Wiggle, leverage, shake and bend. Let's spend more time being grateful for these amazing models we call bodies, and how they enable us to experience so much joy daily, if we allow - rather than worrying about their gravitational pull or number on our clothes.

Speaking of clothes, March has arrived and with it the start of Autumn here in Aotearoa, New Zealand, while for others they are excited about the arrival of Spring and the promise of warmer weather. Where are you reading this - do you even have seasons there?

Autumn would be my favourite if I was forced to pick. One of the things about living where I do is that I get to experience each season. I love Autumn colours, it's still sunny days and cooler nights. It's abundance of harvests from the garden and all the berries you can forage on walks. I love the feeling of coziness that returns with Autumn. Autumn for me is a loving and comforting hug telling me it's time to slow (and create my habernacle - never here of it jump back into this previous post).

Which is your favourite season - if you really really must pick one?

And while Autumn, for me, invites slowing this doesn't mean I become a sloth and go into hiding. Instead I try to intentionally create adventure ensuring I use and appreciate my body, mind and spirit (because let's be clear - the body and mind aren't going to be here forever!). Locking things into the calendar helps ensure I'm creating great memories with great people. I've mentioned the Big Ass Calendar concept previously and it really works.

The concept also leaves space to experience those wonderful unplanned adventures and opportunities - sometimes they turn out to be the best!

What adventure do you have lined up? Is it a solo adventure or a group experience? Have you arranged or has someone else done all the details? Whatever you have planned or not, I hope you get to experience something wonderful this week that creates a cherished memory.

Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.

You are worthy - always

Ngā manaakitanga xx

PS: Something new for this week - and maybe each week here on in - three things I'm grateful for this week. I would love to hear from you about yours

  1. Starting and launching my business - I realise my privilege to have the support to do this.

  2. Eating grapes straight from the vine - warm evenings after work wandering the garden popping sweet, tart old fashioned grapes with thick skins into my mouth.

  3. Technology - which lets me stay connected to loved ones both near and far
