Dearest,
What did you feel as you opened your eyes this morning? Can you even recall? Did you stretch and ease yourself out of bed or roll over to snuggle down a little longer?

However you woke this morning, I hope that as each time your feet touch the floor, or you move yourself into your chair, or do whatever your body requires of you, that there is optimism and hope for what the future holds.
This time of year always feels like obligations ramp up and pure free time all but disappears. Work functions, catching up with friends, visiting family. It's like there is this artificial deadline that has been created at some point, that everything must be done by Christmas.
Here's your permission - it doesn't!
By all means, book in that catch up with that friend - but it doesn't have to be December. January is also a great time to catch up - along with all the others months of the year. Christmas is just one reason to catch up with family - so are the other 364 days of most years.
And for those that the thought of family gatherings triggers hurt and loss, look after yourself. You can't change events of the past but in this moment you do have the wonderful gift of choice. You also have the blessing of gratitude - for all those special time that have been, for all the special times that have yet to unveil themselves. And for this moment - right here, right now, exactly as it is.
I hope that these coming weeks are filled with people and activities that positively impact you. That make you dream bigger, do better and have gratitude for where you are.
Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.
You are worthy - always
Ngā manaakitanga
