Dearest,

Where are you reading this? Is it somewhere you feel safe and content? Are there others around you by they strangers on a commute or loved ones at home? Maybe you are alone in quiet solitude. Wherever you are I do hope you feel safe, loved and full of hope.

I can hear a radio in the distance which make me think of my Nana who would always have the radio playing in the kitchen. I’m picturing here singing away to the latest songs as she pottered away, and I smile.

Don’t you find it really is those little simple moments, that come to you unexpectedly can fill you with joy once again. Dahlias grown in our garden sit upon my desk – deep crimson purple with a bright yellow centre. They also trigger joy

What has recently triggered joy for you? Was it a memory replayed, prompted by something you heard or saw? Was it a magical gift you got to appreciate in the moment? A gift like fresh flowers from the garden or watching a loved one do their quirky thing?

How strong is your gratitude muscle at the moment? I have no doubts that its something we need to practice on a daily basis – like our pelvic floor muscles for the ladies!

Writing it down each day does make a difference, as does being specific. I recently found an old gratitude diary and flicking through its pages gave me such a sense of being totally and utterly blessed. I don’t keep one all the time, and go for long period without, but this particular journal did make me wish I’d been more regular.

Do you keep any journals of any kind? How des it make you feel? I love hearing how others create a life they thrive in – what are your non-negotiables to keep you at your best? Have you even set any and have any idea what they would be?

Whatever you do or don’t do I hope it creates a feeling of contentment in your life. I also hope it creates a faith in yourself. Because, Dearest, you are a wonderful human, from the very moment you entered this world. And every moment of everyday you are worthy and capable to create a life you actively participate and thrive in. You have the choice – consciously use that choice.

Choose to create kindness where you could choose to cause hurt.

Choose to be of service where you could choose to act in scarcity.

Choose to live a beautiful big life where you could choose to be defined by others.

Take care dearest – of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.

You are worthy – always

Ngā manaakitanga xx
