Moments to cherish

Dearest,

How did you awake this morning? Still sleepy and hoping for more sleep or did your eyes open and you got excited for what the day ahead will be? Whichever it was, I hope as your body begins to move from the bed, you allow space for awe in the day that is just beginning.

There is something special about our own beds. Perfectly formed overtime to become you personalised cocoon. Having spent this past week travelling, while the beds have been comfy, they haven’t been mine. I’m not sure what exactly that makes it unique. Maybe it’s not even the bed itself. Perhaps it’s the unfamiliar sounds and sources of light that motel rooms seem to have.

The weather has been wonderful despite it still being winter. I think winter is seen as the time for staying home, but some of our favourite holidays have been during this time. You don’t need to book ahead and can just go where the weather is going to be best. We’ve also travelled some amazing roads as we have zig zagged across Te Wai Pounamu. Blue sky and no wind has been the theme so far and I may have event got burnt in Wanaka yesterday. That view of the lake is just breathtaking.

Today we head to the lush West Coast. We are so lucky to live in such a stunning piece of the world. It’s something to cherish. What’s something that you cherish? Maybe your bed or you own view where you are right now. Perhaps its that morning cuppa or the stillness as the evening sun disappears from sight. Whatever it is Dearest, I hope you cherish the moments you will pass through today.

Take care Dearest – of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.

You are worthy – always

Ngā manaakitanga xx
