Joy of feeling (and I don't mean the emotional feels)

Dearest,

How would you describe this last week? How about the last day that has just been or the last hour? How about this moment? Do words like good or bad pop into your mind? Perhaps it's other words like magical or challenging, beautiful or heartbreaking. Or maybe no words are sufficient to describe your experiences.

Whatever the past week held for you, I hope this week you do get to experience beauty and magic in those little everyday things we are normally too busy to cherish. Those sleepy hugs, the way the morning sun hits the leaves on that particular tree, the smells of the ocean that the breeze carries with it.

What was the last thing that you felt that brought you joy? Not the happy or sad kind of feels, rather the tactile feel it feels. I whole heartedly believe we are all creative. And as creative beings we need to use our hands (or other parts of our bodies) to create which ultimately is to feel.

Was it placing your hands into the garden and feeling the earth or have you dug your toes into the wet sand at the beach recently? Perhaps it was the refreshing juice of a ripe peach escaping your lips or the chill against your hands as they grasped a well-deserved cold beer admiring your freshly cut lawns.

When was the last time you created with your hands? (Again I'm assuming these are available to you but if not, whichever part of your body you have adapted to support your way of living). The feeling of clay smooshing between fingers as your hands attempt to transform a clump of potential. Or the soft but simultaneously gritty feel of wool as its pulled and weaved into a new creation. If it's been a while since you have created for the pure fun of it, is there something you can try this week?

Creation should be fun without any expectations of perfection - it's the doing not the outcome. Creativity surrounds us - from baking a loaf of bread that is kneaded and plaited, to brushing and plaiting someone else's hair. Arranging your pillows on a freshly made bed or arranging flowers picked by your own hands. Wherever you find your creative joy I hope you make space for it this week and that you get to experience lots of different tactile pleasures this week and that you have the space to be fully present.

Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.

You are worthy - always
