Joy of anticipation

Dearest,
How is your energy in this moment? Is it the energic type full of hope and purpose which drives action, or is it the stagnant heavy type that you may even find yourself thinking "what's the point?". If it's the later, I hope you can get yourself outside into fresh air and take a moment to appreciate the beauty that always surrounds us.

You could describe today as a grey and gloomy winters day. And still nature is putting on a show. The bright green moss blanketing a punga log. The Waxeyes and Thrush devouring winter berries from the tree and the long pointy Freesia leaves preparing their space for the burst of colour and fragrance their flowers will soon deliver.
The anticipation provides an uplifting positivity of what's to come. I know it's important to live as much in the moment as possible AND there is something special and delightful about having something to look forward to.
We've known we will be trekking around the South Island, and while work will be undertaken, I can't wait to be working and exploring another part of our beautiful country, Aotearoa New Zealand. Having something planned and anticipating the fun that's going to follow just makes the joy trigger last that bit longer.
What is something you are looking forward to? A holiday too or perhaps an event or milestone? Perhaps it's just the simple anticipation of climbing into bed tonight under new and fresh sheets.
Try and remember all the wonderful joys your life already contains. The "system" may try to tell you that you need more of this or the latest of that. You don't. If they actually trigger true joy for you go for it. But if they trigger a fleeting feeling, that superficial "I'm better now" shortly followed by more wanting then perhaps save your money and spend your time doing something your future self will thank you for.
I hope today, Dearest, you get fresh air, move your body and provide it hydration and nourishment and take care Dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.
You are worthy - always
Ngā manaakitanga xx
