Joy in the slow

Dearest,

How are you? Have you taken a moment since you awoke today to stretch your arms above your head with a big breath in? May you have. Maybe you can't remember the last time you did.

We've been blessed with another stunning winters day here in Kāpiti. Thick white frost greet us as we extract ourselves from the warmth of our beds. The sun slowly shares it's rays of light, helping the park return to it's lush green. Bug again, its slowly. It's the tempo of the winter season. Slow, cosy, invigorated and full of anticipation of what's to come. All while being extremely contented by what is.

It's that contentment that is the reason todays letter is so brief. Instead of consuming what others have created, I hope you take time to create yourself. Kindness for another, a smile exchanged, laughter shared. Or maybe you'll create something tangible. Baking, gardening, art of any kind.

And if none of that resonates or it's a time where everything feels hard and heavy, I hope you take music to the shower and dance and sing loudly to which ever sone gives you what you need in this moment.

Take care Dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.

You are worthy - always

Ngā manaakitanga xx
