Joy contentment brings

Dearest,

How is this moment? What are you surrounded by? Was you answer something physical - like a flowing river or was it something emotional - like idiots who just won't shut up? Either way let's take a breath and come back to us.

As I write to you this morning, it's early so I'm still in bed. Outside the willow trees are yielding to the southerly wind. The leaves create a more rustic sound now than when they were fresh in spring. We've had so much wind. Vicious wind. It seems worse at night when the sense of sight can't be relied upon. How has the weather been lately where you are?

My social feeds are full of "for only $49" "for only $79" (clearly both are marketing trickier price points) offering to make this year my best one yet. Let's save our money. Dearest you already have all the answers within. Give yourself some space and quiet to just be. There is no one fix for us all. We are all at different stages and circumstances. Learn and practice being content with everything exactly as it is right now.

If that space isn't safe, you'll want to take action to create safety. Please do that. You are worthy. If that space feels like it's lacking - that if only you had this, then you'd be happy, then I'm sorry to break this to you but you'll likely find yourself just as discontented with whatever "this" was.

Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't dream big and work to create a life that blows your mind! There is so much abundance in this world, we can all create that. What I am hoping you realise is that, unless you can be content right here and right now, you won't be content with more. You will still feel lacking. It's a hard thing to achieve in a world that tells you that you need more things. We don't.

I'm also not saying contentment is sitting back, doing nothing. We've got one short life so we need to fully live it. Living is creating experiences. A good life requires choosing your hard. You'll know when you aren't being true to yourself here. You will find yourself critical of others. Judging their decisions and their choices. When you are in your flow the effect others have on you is minimal. You live with lightness. Again, not an easy thing to achieve in a world that tells you that success only looks like what they want to sell you.

Have you got any wonderful plans for this week? Is there something special you are looking forward to this year? I hope, Dearest, that whatever time brings, it's something you can be fully present for.

Take care Dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.

You are worthy - always

Ngā manaakitanga xx
