Dearest,

How are you in this moment? Full of energy and optimism or feeling flat and blah? I don't think I've ever felt blah and full of energy at the same time. Maybe optimism and hope are a key ingredient to energy.

What sights greet you as you look at your window? My garden is currently like a patchwork quilt of colour. I say patchwork as there are small sections of various spring delights.

There's the Fig tree with its fresh growth of bright green leaves and the beginning of a bountiful fruit crop. The Jasmine is in full bloom with its intoxicating fragrance there to greet me each time I step into our backyard. The Rosemary is a buzz with bee's making the most of the tight blue flower clusters. If they feel like something different, the Lavender is flowering in all its purple glory, formed as a tight straight boarder to the garden it protects. Citrus of Lemon and Lime are laden with fruit. Pops of green and yellow. Our lime tree produces some of the biggest limes I've ever seen.

Daphne is having its last moments as are the blossoms of the plum tree which have transformed from a cluster of white to bright fresh green leaves, just like the Fig. I'm hopeful fruit buds have had the chance to form before September's destructive winds caused damage. White Tulips greet me each morning in a wonderful line. Frilly, short Tulips in pinks, reds and yellow also are blooming.

I look upon all of them as a gift my past self has given me. It's a reminder that while we need to live in the moment, that actions we take today are either going to be a gift for our future or a burden. Planting a seed results in a gift of a flower. Setting up that automatic payment results in a gift of funds for that holiday. Going for a walk, lifting weight, eating those greens or taking part in any type of movement result in the gift of a body that lets you do what you want.

I hope today, Dearest, you do something that will be a gift for your future self. Just one small thing. You deserve a wonderful future full of moments that bring you joy and inspiration.

Take care Dearest, of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.

You are worthy - always
