Cherishing the moments

Dearest,
How are you today? Are you feeling upbeat or blah? Has the week brought moments of joy and opportunity or was this week one of heartbreak and heaviness?

Today, heaven welcomes another angel, that for those of us remaining, was far too soon. The overwhelming emotion that loss brings can never be prepared for.
Yet as we walked amongst others, comments of "a beautiful day isn't it" flowed like any other. The sun's warmth still emitted from the sky and the nourishing sea breeze kept us company.
I liken the heaviness of the loss as a counterbalance to the joy and happiness the person created in our lives. It shows their impact. And that is something to cherish. It's amazing how joy and agony can co-exist in the same moment - each amplifying the other.
Dearest, I hope you know that you mean the world to someone. I hope you greet each day knowing you matter and your actions make a difference.
You matter so much more than you realise. Those smiles you greet a stranger with - they make a difference. That promise that you kept, even though it was for something small - makes a difference. That joyous laughter when tears stream down your face and your tummy begins to hurt - that wonderful positive energy matters and makes a difference.
This week, I hope you get to cherish something joyful. Be it a single square of chocolate melting on your tongue. A sunset of brilliant colours. An embrace with a loved one. The energising chill that hits when you first dive into the river or ocean.
Cherish each moment and seek out the joy in these moments. Take rest when you need and push yourself further than you think possible every other time. A wonderful life has hard - and you can do hard.
Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.
You are worthy - always
Ngā manaakitanga xx
