Dearest,

How are you feeling in this moment? And now, after taking a deep breath, wiggling your shoulders reaching your arms up above and having a good stretch - how does this moment feel?

As I write this letter I am travelling across the cook strait by ferry. It departed in the dark at 6.15am and now, an hour later, the soft morning light is just beginning to unveil the slightly choppy waters.

There is a gentle roll, back and forth, as we move beyond the protection of Te Ika-a-Māui, with Te Waipounamu cloaked in could in the distance. The sky behind us has turned a fiery red.

How do you spend your nights? We will often find ourselves searching YouTube for travel vlogs. Last night involved them climbing to the worlds tallest hotel (in Italy) It wasn't something I thought I would put on my travel list. For starters you need to use snow skis and the last time I attempted movement with those things I ran over a group of young learners on the slopes of Ruapehu. I have never touched them again.

But it got me thinking when I saw the name of the channel was "Yes Theory" and the final shot in big font was "Stay Uncomfortable".

I don't know why, but I've been thinking about it since. My life is comfortable (not a complaint!!) Amazing husband, awesome children. I love my work, great house and friends etc etc etc. And for many years now I've taken the position life's too short to put up with crap.

I still believe this, but I am wondering if my "crap" pile also included anything that was uncomfortable. Anything that might have needed me to stretch myself. And perhaps, within that, I've missed some amazing experiences - don't know.

I've said it before - each day we get to choose our hard. We need to consciously choose. I think a part of me has been on autopilot. How about yourself, Dearest, do you keep doing the same things or do you actively seek to create adventures? If its uncomfortable do you avoid it or do you dive in?

Well here's to a week looking for opportunities to get uncomfortable and not throwing everything into the crap pile!

Take care Dearest, of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.

You are worthy - always
